This magical, pink iced, sweet roll originated from the Bennett’s Bakery in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada. Northwestland Lore speaks of it being named for U.S. General John “Blackjack” Pershing, upon a visit to Art Bennett in the first half of the 20th century. Though beloved by the locals, mystery still surrounds the pink icing... is it strawberry? Is it Raspberry? Not even the Persian knows.
